Platelet-rich plasma therapy or PRP is a popular and advanced technique for treating hair thinning, patterned hair loss, or receding hairline. This treatment naturally and effectively re-grows your hair and controls the hair loss. The PRP procedure is minimally invasive and safe, with no side effects such as infection or bleeding. PRP Hair Treatment follows a four-step procedure as mentioned below: Blood collection from your arm Separation of platelets from the blood PRP is created from plasma separated from the blood Injecting PRP into the affected area This non-surgical treatment may last from an hour to an hour and a half. Anyone above the age of 18 years experiencing patterned hair loss or androgenetic alopecia can opt for PRP. Our Trichologist will make you a customized plan after conducting a thorough diagnosis and analysing your medical history. 6 to 8 sessions at an interval of one month are generally recommended for the best results.

Vitiligo Treatment Surgery for vitiligo is useful in resistant areas and residual lesions. The choice of surgical treatment depends on type of the vitiligo, extent and site of lesions, the availability of equipment and expertise of the treating surgeon. Sometimes, more than one procedure may be required. Currently available methods are classified as grafting and non grafting techniques. The grafting techniques, which are the more commonly used, include both tissue grafts and the more recent cellular methods. The causes of vitiligo are unknown, but it doesn’t appear to be an inherited disease. Most patients with vitiligo don’t have a family history of such conditions. However, a family history of such a condition increases the chances of developing vitiligo. It is believed that vitiligo is an autoimmune disease, wherein the body’s immune system attacks the skin cells. This autoimmune disorder may be the root cause of vitiligo in some people. Vitiligo is neither contagious nor life-threatening. However, it can be life-altering and all-consuming because some people develop problems like low self-esteem and other psychological problems. Vitiligo is a sort of genetic skin disorder that results in white patches on the skin. It can develop at any stage of your life and is progressive. Moreover, these vitiligo patches are more noticeable in people with dark skin. People with vitiligo patches are seen more stressed because of low self-esteem, social stigma, and shame. Vitiligo treatment can be done in the following ways: • Cream for the affected skin to correct pigmentation such as anti-inflammatory steroid creams. • Medicines such as calcineurin inhibitors. • The latest and effective way to treat vitiligo is through a laser therapy called “Narrowband Ultraviolet-B Phototherapy”. It is also known as NB-UVB therapy.: Note: NBUVB therapy is referred to, for large body areas. For small body areas, Excimer lasers are used.

Laser Treatment for Pigmented Lesions: Spectra: Q-switched Nd: YAG (US FDA Approved Device) Where can this treatment be used? This laser treatment with Spectra: Q-switched Nd: YAG (US FDA Approved Device) is commonly used for skin rejuvenation. It is considered “non-invasive,” which means it uses light-energy that your skin tissues absorb. This device can be used to: Reduce fine lines and wrinkles by gently stimulating the natural growth of collagen Reduce large pores and pigmentation in the sun-damaged skin Remove pigmented skin from lesions and sunspots Remove tattoos How Spectra Laser Peel is performed? In the Spectra Laser Peel treatment, gentle laser rays penetrate the surface of your skin. The laser heat stimulates the growth of collagen present deep beneath your skin. The effects of this laser treatment can be observed even after the treatment is over. Once new collagen starts filling wrinkles and fine lines, you will be able to see the difference in your skin. It will look younger and healthier. This treatment is also very effective for discoloured skin and pigmented lesions. The light energy breaks up the pigmented areas so the collagen can be reabsorbed into the skin. You may see some immediate improvement in your skin, however complete results tend to appear gradually. For best results, you are recommended to have at least 4 to 6 treatment sessions within intervals of 3 to 5 weeks between each session. A lot of our clients choose to come back for touch-up sessions post-treatment. What kind of skin conditions can be treated with Spectra? Spectra treatments can help you treat the following skin problems: Melasma Pigmented acne scars Freckles Dark circles around the mouth Tattoo removal How many sessions are recommended? Our cosmetologists will analyse your skin and then recommend the number of sessions required as per your skin type. Usually, four to six sessions are recommended.

What causes Acne Scars? How can Acne scars be treated with Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment? Acne scarring occurs when excess collagen builds up in your skin. This happens when the body puts too much effort into healing the wounds caused by acne. If this excess collagen remains in your skin for a long period of time, it may result in acne scarring. Acne scars may occur naturally or as in most cases, patients may worsen the situation by picking their acne spots. Acne scarring can damage your skin on the back, the chest and the face. Not all cases result in true acne scars. Some cases result in just an excess of pigmentation, which may fade over a period of a few years. It may appear as a textured skin, but normally they are not permanent like acne scars. The newly introduced fractional laser technology can treat acne and scars effectively. The treatment is painless and excellently resurfaces the skin by reducing the pore size. The treatment effectively helps skin appear smooth and also works on pimple scars. Before starting the procedure, Topical anaesthetics are applied to make the treatment more comfortable. At Aura, we offer a wide range of treatments to fight against various acne scars. You just need to fix an appointment with one of our skin specialists to get your skin assessed and they will plan an individualized treatment for you.
